Mentoring Project

The Mentoring Project of Kent Refugee Action Network (KRAN) invites you to be part of this exciting project supporting newcomers to our Kent communities. We are offering opportunities to volunteers to work as mentors with an individual local refugee (mentee), who has leave to remain in the UK.

Mentors will meet their mentee on a one-to-one basis in a public meeting place or at the KRAN office. The task of a mentor is to listen to their mentees and to help them to integrate in the society. KRAN will give on-going support to the mentor through meetings, provision of useful recourses and by being available on the telephone to discuss difficulties. We do not expect mentors to know all the answers.

One of our mentors said: “It is a very interesting learning experience for myself and my mentee. I feel privileged to be part of such a helpful relationship”.

Would you like to share about 2 hours per week with a newcomer to your community in Dover, Folkestone, Ashford or Canterbury? Do you enjoy helping others?

Become a mentor to a refugee!

Kent Refugee Action Network provides valuable training in mentoring and in issues affecting refugees and your expenses will be paid.
